The interior of this exotic car is packed with rear-hinged doors that make it easier to access the cabin seats to handle up to four adult passengers. Released in May 2018, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is a luxury SUV (sport utility vehicle), the first of its kind to be launched by Rolls-Royce, and the first all-wheel-drive produced by the brand.
Rolls Royce history
The first-ever car to be realized by Rolls-Royce was a 10HP twin cylinder vehicle from 1904 to 1906. The 15HP triple-cylinder quickly followed suit. Then, the four-cylinder 20HP vehicle came in both a heavy chassis model for carrying Limousine coachwork and light chassis form suitable for sporting Tourers. A V8 and six-cylinder 30HP model also emerged on the scene around the same period.
From 1907 to 1923, Rolls-Royce used a policy called the one-model policy, in which they revolved around the 40/50 model, which later came to be known as the Silver Ghost. The car had some noteworthy achievements, with its dual ignition capabilities, pressurized engine lubrication mechanisms, and advanced carburation, which all went in to make the car flexible, smooth, and yet powerful, reliable, and long-lasting.
Even the Phantom I was built off of the Silver Ghost, with minor changes to the engine, while maintaining the chassis, suspension, gearbox, and braking systems as they were on the Silver Ghost.
Though the Phantom I, the then New Phantom, had a short production reign from 1925 to 1929, it was pretty popular. There was an evolution in coachwork trend from the more structured and upright styles that allowed for wearing top hats, to more elegant and lower approaches. The Phantom I benefited from this trend, having received more elegant coachworks from the most renowned British coach workers.
The success of the Phantom I, though short-lived, allowed for the development and release of the larger horse-power Phantom II in 1929. And as expected, the Phantom II had a tremendous impact as the entire outlook of the car was redesigned, including the chassis and springing. Barely six years after the first release, the last unit of the Phantom II was released in 1935, and it gave way to the last model of cars released during the interwar years – the Wraith, which was released in 1938.
